My name is Scott Lewis, and I was raised in Columbia, SC, but attended universities in Tennessee and Montana. I grew up fishing ponds and lakes for bass, caught my first trophy bass at age 12, and from ages 11-15 fished more than 150 days/year. During my college years I explored and fished all over the American West, especially southwest Montana. For the past 17 years I have focused on fly-fishing the southern Appalachian tri-state region (TN, VA, and NC), especially the Tennessee tailwaters. I hold degrees in biology and in medical technology, and I am also a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School (www.nols.edu), where I had the privilege of teaching fly-fishing in 1995. In addition to fishing, I enjoy SCUBA-diving, photography, and backpacking, and I am the proud father of 2 boys.
